Shariah Committee

We keep our commitment towards our shareholders and customers by ensuring compliance in the way we conduct our business with the establishment of Shariah Committee. The members play a pivotal role in our Takaful businesses and in establishing the general guideline to the way CIMB Aviva Takaful conducts its businesses and activities; which include product development, operations, distribution, accounting, investment, outsourcing and other related Takaful activities.

The Shariah Committee of CIMB Aviva Takaful consists of prominent Shariah scholars who specialise in Islamic knowledge and practice. The three members of the committee are:

Sheikh Dr. Shafaai Bin Musa
Dr. Shafaai Musa is an Associate Professor, Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University, Malaysia (“IIUM”) and Executive Director, IIUM Centre for Continuing Education Sdn. Bhd.

Sheikh Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hashim Kamali
Dr. Mohammad Hashim is the Chairman and CEO, International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies

Sheikh Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im Bin Haji Mokhtar
Dr. Hj. Mohd Na'im Hj. Mokhtar is the Chief Assistant Director, Family Support Division, Malaysia Shariah Judiciary Department, Prime Minister’s Department, Malaysia.

Ustaz Mohd Fadhly Md. Yusoff
Ustaz Mohd Fadhly Md. Yusoff is a member of OSK Investment Bank Shariah Committee and Aftaas Syariah Advisory Sdn Bhd.

Professor Dr. Noor Inayah Yaakub
Professor Dr. Noor Inayah Yaakub is a Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation & Commercialisation) at the UKM -Graduate School of Business, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
