Guidelines and Claim Procedures - Non Motor
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IN THE EVENT OF MOTOR ACCIDENT/LOSS/INJURY?
• Be calm
• If there are injuries, call 999 for assistance
• Take all steps to minimize the extent of the loss or damage
Liability Claim
The following circumstances will require you to take necessary action:
When a third party has notified you of a claim intention to claim against you. When you are aware of any circumstances that may give rise to a claim
• Please inform CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad as soon as possible.
• Please lodge a police report immediately (if any).
• Take photographs of the scene including any potential injuries and/or property damage of the third party immediately after the occurrence of the accident.
• If there are injuries, call 999 for assistance.
• Take all steps to minimize the extent of the loss or damage.
• Do not discuss any settlement or compensation without a written consent from CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad.
Property Damage
The following circumstances will require you to take necessary action:
When involving lightning, fire, flood, windstorm, explosion, windstorm or any other acts of God.
• Please inform CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad as soon as possible
• Please lodge a police report immediately (if any)
• Please inform the relevant parties such as Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance and/or local municipals
• If there are injuries, call 999 for assistance
• Take all steps to minimize the extent of the loss or damage
• Suffice adjuster appointed, please cooperate with Takaful appointed investigator/adjuster
Personal Accident
The following circumstances will require you to take necessary action:
Non Fatal
• Please complete and return the claim form together with the requested documents.
• Suffice serious injuries involve, please send the person injured to the clinic or hospital.
• Where medical expenses are covered under the Policy, they shall only payable if the attending doctor is licensed and registered as prescribed under the Medical Act
Fatal
• Please inform CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad as soon as possible
• Please lodge a police report immediately (if any)
• Please provide the death certificate, burial permit and post-mortem report (if any)
• Complete and return claim form supported by all relevant documents as requested
• Suffice no beneficiary is named in the certificate, the dependants of the deceased and/or administrator (s) of the estate of the deceased should also provide further proof of dependency and/or letter of administration of the estate of the deceased.
Theft / Burglary
• Report the matter to the police immediately.
• Please inform CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad on the same day of the burglary or within 24 hours of its occurrence.
• Take immediate precautions to prevent further losses and wait for further instructions or consent from CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad and/or his appointed independent adjusters.
• Please forward the photographs of the point of entry.
